I m trying to connect a second monitor to the hdmi output by way of a hdmi to vga cable. I have windows 7 x64. Check if there is any damage or something inside the port is preventing vga signal from getting through. If necessary replace them with another identical signal cable e g hdmi or dvi to conduct a cross test.

My computer runs windows 10 pro 64bit. Next if this does not solve your problem disconnect your computer dvd player or another input device from your cable and plug in a new input device.

Next check if the cables are working properly. Check to be sure that it is plugged into a power source that works and turned on.
